Melbourne business pleads for bollards after spate of crashes

A real estate agency in Melbourne is pleading with council to install bollards outside the business after a spate of crashes over the past year.
YPA Wyndham City has been hit nearly half a dozen times by speeding drivers, the most recent yesterday.
Multiple cars, including an Aldi sedan, were damaged when a white Ford van mounted a corner about 9.30am. The driver stopped but was uncooperative, police said.

Real estate agent Abdul Merabi was nearly hit by the car.
"I was walking out to the car so just to see something like that happen it is quite traumatising," he said.
In March last year, a car smashed into the office, destroying windows and the reception desk.
For more than a year, the business has been asking for guard rails, bollards, or planter boxes but says it keeps being passed between Wyndham City Council and VicRoads.
"We really don't want to move, we don't want to relocate," real estate agent Kirsty Cunningham said.
"We just want to be safe in our environment "

9News understands staff have been told the 60km/h speed limit will be reduced by 10 kilometres.
They don't believe that will be enough to stop people speeding and still want protection between them and whatever happens out on the street.
Wyndham City Council will commission a road safety audit but said the road was the responsibility of the state government.
The state government said it was waiting on the outcome of an investigation into yesterday's crash.
